Syria's civil war

Syria's civil war

The Syria's civil war is one of the worst humanitarian disasters of our time.
The number of innocent civilians affected by the war is more than nine million people currently. The anti-government demonstrations began in March, 2011. Three years after it began, the civil war has killed over 190000 people, half of whom are believed to be civilians.

Thousands of Syrians flee away from their own country every day and there are around three million Syrian refugees. All this refugees are living under bad conditions such as the lack of water, clothes and education for childrens.

In December 2013, the U.N. issued its largest ever appeal for a single crisis — according to their estimates, $6.5 billion is necessary to meet the needs of all those affected by the crisis, both inside and outside Syria, an increase from last year's $5 billion. Yet that previous appeal was only 62% funded.

People has worked in the region for 20 years and are committed to help Syrians and the countries hosting them for as long as it takes. But as the number of those in need keep increasing, your support is always needed. Here’s a list of things you can do to make a difference for Syrian refugees:
  • Every single contribution helps providing even more food, water, shelter and support to Syrian families in desperate need of help.
  • Tell your friends. Share this story.
  • Start a campaign. You can turn knowledge into action by setting up a personal fundraising page and asking your friends and family to contribute the efforts to help Syrians fleeing the war.
